The Hunter and the Tiger

A hunter in the middle of a forest was suddenly confronted by a huge, hungry looking tiger. In his fear, all the hunter's attempts to shoot the tiger were unsuccessful. Finally, the hunter turned and ran as fast as he could. He ran and ran and ran, until he ended up at the edge of a very steep cliff. His hopes were dim. Seeing no way out of his predicament, and with the tiger closing in rather quickly, the hunter got down on his knees, opened his arms, and exclaimed, "Dear God! Please give this tiger some religion!"

The sky darkened and there was lightning in the heavens. Just a few feet short of the hunter, the tiger came to an abrupt stop and glanced around, somewhat confused. There was a pause. Suddenly, the tiger looked up into the sky and said, "Thank you, Lord, for this food I'm about to receive...."

A Little Boy's Prayers

A little boy who said his prayers every night would say, "God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, God bless the cat, and God bless the dog."

Well, one day the little boy was playing with the dog, and the dog bit him. That night when he said his prayers, he said, "God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, God bless the cat, and I don't care what happens to the dog."

The next morning when the family woke up, they found the dog--dead.

A few days later, the little boy was playing with the cat, and the cat scratched him. That night when he said his prayers, he said, "God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, and I don't care what happens to the cat."

The next morning when the family woke up, they found the cat--dead.

A few days later, the little boy got in trouble with his daddy. That night when he said his prayers, he said, "God bless Mommy, and I don't care what happens to Daddy."

Well, Daddy had heard the little boy's prayers every night and remembered what had happened to the dog and the cat. So, that night, he stayed up until the wee hours of the morning, determined that he would fend off anything that tried to kill him. Finally, convinced nothing would happen, he gave up and went to bed.

He awoke the next morning, feeling fine now that the "danger" was over, and went to retrieve the morning paper and the fresh milk bottle. When he opened the front door however, he found the milkman sprawled across the step--dead.
